Giving a tour with the right amount of energy, enthusiasm, and comprehensive knowledge is not easy. Kate has nailed it.

Feb. Snow I, 2010
Snowy day, Long Meadow

My two-hour walking tour highlights key destinations created by Prospect Park co-designers Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux commencing in 1866. We’ll literally move through history as we follow the Park’s winding watercourse through meadows and woods, discussing how residents of Brooklyn, a thriving independent city from 1834 to 1898, sought to create a park to compete with New York’s Central Park. The Park’s backstory is dramatic and fascinating.  You’ll be drawn in by the personalities of those who fought to make this 526-acre national treasure not only a reality, but an astonishing, enduring work of art for all.
